On this page you will find useful tips to help you access and view the live video stream, participate in the live online discussion, or ask a question at the event.

How to view the live video stream

In order to watch and listen to the forum your computer will need:

  • a broadband internet connection;
  • a sound card with speakers or headphones; and
  • the Adobe Flash plugin.

Visit the participate page for links to the live streams.

Controlling the Video

There may be up to three video streams occurring simultaneously. Please refer to the program to decide which stream you want to watch.

The video player has a pause/play button, a volume control and a fullscreen button as well as buttons to change which stream you are watching.

Can't connect?

Some users may have difficulty connecting to the live content due to restrictions put in place by their internet administrators, insufficient broadband connections or other issues with their computers. If you can’t view the live streams, please check back after the event to view the on-demand videos of the event.

Participating in live online discussion

The first tab in the panel to the right of the video contains an online discussion window. This discussion window allows you to discuss the event with other online participants. In order to join in the discussion, simply enter your name, type in your comment or question and press the Send button.

Comments will be checked against the Acceptable Use Policy prior to being posted. Any comments that do not adhere to the policy will not be published. This will be at the discretion of the moderator and no discussion will be entered in to. There may be a short delay between submitting your comment and seeing it appear in the discussion window, this is normal.

Can I ask a question at the event?

You can send your question to a mediator at the event by using the Ask a Question box located underneath the video. Depending on the speaker, the discussion being generated at the event and scheduling requirements your question may or may not be raised.
