Forum showcases innovation and best practice

The Australian Education Ministers' 2010 Biennial Forum was held on the 15 October at Parliament House in Canberra.

The Forum brought together over 300 of Australia’s educational leaders and practitioners from all jurisdictions and sectors.

It provided the opportunity to showcase innovative and creative best-practice initiatives that are improving student outcomes, transforming schools and shaping the education environment into the future.

Minister for School Education, Peter Garrett, joined other state education ministers’ in a panel discussion, and keynote speaker David Istance, a senior member of OECD’s Centre for Education Research and Innovation discussed a range of education issues in his address.

The Forum also provided the opportunity for eighteen other presentations from different sectors on a range of different themes, including Leadership and Teacher Quality, Transforming Education, and Innovation in Curriculum.
